A sweet reading on the BBC: "I never imagined I would have two husbands"

BBC Radio 5, news & sports radio for the UK, includes "In Short" segments with "latest news, the best interviews and sporting action." This one came from a listener, reading a letter to her growing polyfamily. It went up yesterday, as the finale of the station's February Love Series. (1:50; with subtitles.)

The blurb:

Shannon was brought up to believe marriage was between one man and one woman, but now has two "husbands" with whom she lives in a polyamorous relationship.

Last year they celebrated their love in a ceremony with friends and family, and consider themselves in a state of matrimony. They are expecting their first child this year.

In a poem to her husbands Shannon writes: "Louis, I love your passion and enthusiasm, Mike, I love your kindness and your warmth, to me a marriage is not about a piece of paper, gender or number of participants, it’s about love and acceptance...."
